Position: Salesforce Engineering Team Lead

About the Role
In this role, the Salesforce Engineering Team Lead will take charge of both development and leadership responsibilities, including the design, coding, testing, adaptation, and integration of software products. The role also involves leading a team of Salesforce developers and administrators, collaborating with product managers and stakeholders, and being responsible for the overall technical direction of the Salesforce implementation. The role will provide opportunities to promote modern engineering practices, assist with non-functional requirements, and collaborate on DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a cross-functional squad in collaboration with a Product Manager to deliver high-quality features on the Salesforce platform.
- Provide technical assistance with Salesforce-related issues and technical input on the product backlog and initiative prioritisation.
- Break down initiatives into actionable tasks and sequence them for delivery.
- Promote modern engineering practices such as TDD, pair programming, and efficient branching strategies.
- Mentor and guide the squad on Salesforce technologies and effective ways of working.
- Address non-functional requirements in collaboration with Infrastructure Engineers.
- Recommend and collaborate on DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Lead and manage direct reports within a squad.
Skills and Experience
Mandatory:
- 5+ years of proven Salesforce Apex development experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Salesforce at an architectural level.
- Solid understanding of Salesforce security best practices.
- Previous experience as a team lead.
- Familiarity with Salesforce testing frameworks.
- Strong understanding of git, Gitflow, and GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of software design patterns and their application.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- A commitment to always leaving the code better than you found it.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Datadog.
- Experience with continuous deployment and basic DevOps tools.
- Knowledge of Salesforce deployment frameworks and tools.
