Head of Design | Sydney
We’re partnering with one of Australia’s leading financial services organisations to appoint an exceptional Head of Design.
This is a rare executive leadership opportunity to shape the future of design within a large, customer-centric business undergoing significant transformation. Reporting into senior leadership, you’ll define the long-term vision for design, elevate organisational design maturity and establish design as a strategic capability across the business.
Leading a multidisciplinary team spanning Product Design, Service Design, Design Systems, Accessibility and Voice of Customer, you’ll be responsible for creating a high-performing design culture while partnering closely with Product, Engineering and Business leaders to deliver exceptional customer experiences at scale.
This role goes well beyond people leadership. You’ll influence enterprise strategy, champion human-centred design across complex customer journeys and help shape how millions of customers interact with digital products and services.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced design leader who has successfully built and scaled design teams within large, complex organisations.
You’ll bring:
- A proven track record leading high-performing Product, Service and Experience Design teams.
- Experience building design capability, operating models and design maturity across an enterprise environment.
- Strong executive stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at the highest levels of an organisation.
- Deep expertise across Product Design, Service Design, Design Systems and customer experience.
- A passion for coaching and developing senior designers and design leaders.
- The commercial acumen to position design as a strategic driver of business performance rather than simply a delivery function.
